For me, this blog is a grand opening party. I’m excited to be unveiling a concept that I believe will help thousands of people lead healthier lives. This idea has been on my mind for the past several years but I never knew exactly when to begin.
Unfortunately, fear had a grip on me. I was ready to chase it, but stuck on trying to take the first step. Now I’ve realized, though, that all the reasons I had for fearing the formal kickoff were easily outweighed by the advantages of getting things started NOW:
- My Fear…Having SO MUCH information to share. Why Now?… I’ve spent a significant amount of time compiling the best information and resources for you. This information can literally HELP SAVE LIVES.
- My Fear…Deciding on the PERFECT time to start. Why Now?…The fitness and bodywork fields are constantly changing with updated methods and research. My blog will never be complete, but it will contain the most up-to-date, research-based information I can find.
As a lecturer once told me, “50% of what I’m about to tell you will be outdated and/or wrong in 5 years. The question is, ‘Which 50?’.” So, let the journey begin!
The mission statement for Charm City Therapeutic Massage is: ‘Building healthy communities through bodywork, weight training, nutrition, and sport’. This statement will drive all the decisions I make for my business and this blog. In order to deliver these concepts as efficiently as possible, my posts will concentrate on each topic individually:
- Bodywork (techniques for improved mobility and muscular pain relief)
- Weight Training (efficient strength training methods)
- Nutrition (food selection and supplementation)
- Sport (athletic options for families and training for youth)
- Healthy Communities (communication and growth to help everyone achieve success)
Who Am I?
My name is Geoff Pritchard. I am the oldest of three boys. Born in New Hampshire as a Gemini. At 36 years old, my life has been full of experiences… as an athlete, computer programmer, saxophonist, punk rocker, personal trainer, marathoner, college graduate, massage therapist, Husband, home owner, running coach, Father, and friend.
These experiences have taught me many lessons, but I’ve had one major regret…Not trying to help more people with the knowledge and training I’ve received. Fortunately, I am ready to start giving back and can’t wait to educate, inspire, and change people’s lives.
‘Building healthy homes through bodywork, weight training, nutrition, and sport’ is my goal. Whatever you decide to do with your life, learn to live with passion. Be an effective leader in making positive change. We need more leaders in society today.
Along the way I hope to make many more lasting relationships. Please feel free to reach out to me with an email or phone call. I’ll do my best to reply as promptly as possible. If not, I hope you’ll continue to read my posts, watch my videos, and challenge yourself to effect more lives.
Whatever path you take, take time to reflect. Lyrics always work best for me, so consider these words from ‘This’ by Darius Rucker:
I don’t really know how I got here
But I’m sure glad that I did
And it’s crazy to think that one little thing
Could’ve changed all of it
Maybe it didn’t turn out like I planned
Maybe that’s why I’m such, such a lucky man
For every stoplight I didn’t make
Every chance I did or I didn’t take
All the nights I went too far
All the girls that broke my heart
All the doors that I had to close
All the things I knew but I didn’t know
Thank God for all I missed
‘Cause it led me here to this
